Adam Arrowood


Adam Arrowood basics:

  1. I work for the Office of Information Technology of Georgia Tech in Atlanta, GA USA.

    In my role as a Research Scientist, I work for Georgia Tech's Cyber Security team and I'm involved in web-related security issues, including the study of backlink spam and teaching classes on securing Apache.

    For many years I was a web developer and system admin, I working on such projects as My GaTech email, Passport, LAWN, GaTech webHosting, OIT Status, and the Georgia Tech website, among others.

Things that I have done that might explain how you know me:

  1. Graduated from: Sugar Hill Elementary, Camden County High School and Georgia Tech

  2. Spent summers in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi

  3. Was, at one time, a bagboy in Camden County, at the Kings Bay Navy Exchange grocery store

  4. Worked on the Space Shuttle External Tank at the Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans

  5. During the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, created the View from the Village website

  6. Was a stunt-mouse and technical advisor for a season of Life on the Internet, starring Scott Simon

  7. Worked at, writing the first SportsTicker-to-web engine and teaching training classes for various CNN departments

  8. Taught several classes for Georgia Tech Continuing Education, including Dreamweaver, Fireworks, and Streaming Media

  9. Authored several years worth of April Fools Day pranks

  10. Rode three BRAGs and one Bike Virginia, Five Six-Gap half-centuries and countless other bike rides
